What is individual therapy?
As an expecting or new mom, I personally know that you may be too tired and may be overwhelmed with your pregnancy or your new baby to think about yourself and your mental health. You’re not sure if how you are feeling is normal, but you know that you just don't feel like yourself. It is important for you to know that this is quite common and that you are not alone. I know you want to get to feeling like yourself and as quickly as possible. This can be accomplished by engaging in individual therapy with me.
Individual therapy is a collaborative and supportive process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained therapist—in a safe, caring, and confidential environment—to restore or improve a client’s quality of life. Therapy can help individuals explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors and work through challenging or influential areas. Together we can identify aspects of your life that you would like to change, better understand yourself and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. Therapy can also promote self-awareness and provide tools to be better equipped to face life’s challenges. A client and therapist may work together for as few as five or six sessions or as long as several years, depending on the client’s unique needs and personal goals for therapy.
As a therapist who specializes in women’s issues surrounding the reproductive life cycle, I have the knowledge and skill set to help you navigate through this difficult time. Together, we can come up with a plan to restore your sense of self.
